The Musky Hunter Tv Show Reels In Five Prestigious Telly Awards

The Musky Hunter television show received five Telly Awards for four of its 2011 episodes — including a Silver — the industry’s highest distinction. Since its inaugural season in 2007, this award-winning musky program has received nine Tellys, unprecedented for a fishing show.

The Telly Awards is a widely known and highly respected national and international competition honoring outstanding local, regional and cable TV programs. In 2011, The Musky Hunter competed against 11,000 entries from all 50 states and numerous countries. According to a press release issued by the Telly Awards, this year’s winners represent the best work of the most respected advertising agencies, multi-national production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. Less than 10 percent of entries were chosen as winners of the Silver Telly, the program’s highest honor.

“Winning a Telly is a great achievement for our TV show. It validates what we’re trying to do — produce a uniquely educational and entertaining fishing program with a professional and creative edge,” said Jim Saric, producer and host of the show. “These awards are a testament to the high caliber work of my production team, and I can’t speak highly enough of my editor, Heather Brown of Rusty Dog Films, Inc., and my two camera operators: Jim Lucy of HangLuc Productions and Rik Brown of Rusty Dog Films, Inc. Obviously, the dedication, pride and attention to detail we all give to the show really pays off.”

The episode entitled “Post Frontal” won a silver medal in the sports category. “Speed Thrills” won a bronze in the sports category and also in the videography/cinematography category. “Blackhawk Island” won a bronze in the videography/cinematography category. And, the “University of Esox” took a bronze in the editing category.

All 11 episodes that make up the show’s fifth season are now available on DVD and can be ordered on Musky Hunter’s Web site: www.muskyhuntercatalog.com.

The Musky Hunter television show is currently filming its sixth season, which will begin airing on Fox Sports North, Comcast SportsNet and the World Fishing Network in January 2012.
